2007 Cherry Blossom Queen & Princesses Crowned

Macon, GA---The Cherry Blossom Festival is proud to announce the 2007 Cherry
Blossom Queen, Brettlin Spangler, and her Princesses, Lindsey Soles, Jasmine
Habersham, Alison Johnson, and Aunrie Bakon.
The winners were chosen from 22 high school senior girls who participated in the
pageant, Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Porter Auditorium at Wesleyan College. Pageant
contestants were greeted by Mistress of Ceremonies, Liz Fabian. Contestants were
presented to the audience along with a judging panel made up of Carla Heath-Sands,
News Anchor with WALB in Albany; Ron Simpson with RCS Productions from Atlanta;
and Carolyn Morris with the International Festivals and Events Association. The judges’
independent scores were pooled to determine the winners. Lester Miller, Attorney at Law
sponsored the Pageant. The pageant was choreographed by Mr. Dale Duncan and Ms.
Cynthia Smith of the Dance Centre International.
The Cherry Blossom Festival is also pleased to announce the 2007 Sr. Court made up of
Ann Davis serving as the 2007 Sr. Queen, and Betty Lumpkin serving as the Sr. Princess.
The royal courts will serve as ambassadors at the 2007 Cherry Blossom Festival, and the
Queen will represent the festival and the middle Georgia community at other festivals
throughout the year.
Held for 10 days each March, Macon, Georgia’s International Cherry Blossom Festival
features over 500 events including: parades, concerts, fireworks, amusement rides,
dances, arts & crafts and much more. Attracting an average of 300,000 participants each
year, the Cherry Blossom Festival is held when the town's 300,000 Yoshino cherry trees
are in bloom. Deemed the Cherry Blossom Capital of the World, Macon is THE spring
travel destination for both local and international tourists alike. The festival will be
celebrating its 25th anniversary March 16-25, 2007.
